As the sun rises over the blue waters off the southern coast of Sri Lanka, the largest mammal on earth breaks the surface. Sri Lanka is a land where not one but two monsoons mark time each year.
On arrival at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be received warmly by our representative to get the first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality. The vacation in Sri Lanka will begin with exploration of Colombo during the Colombo City Tour.
While on the city tour in Colombo, the first stop you may visit is Galle Face Green- a five hectare ocean-side urban park. Galle Face Green bustles with life, long into the evening and is famous for indulging in many recreational activities. Then head to Viharamahadevi Park- Colombo’s biggest park famous for its wonderful flowering trees, which bloom in March, April and early May. Later we will take you to Colombo National Museum to see some of the great specimens of arts crafts and archeology of Colombo.
You will drive through the commercial areas to visit Twin World Trade Center towers- one of the architectural marvels of Sri Lanka as this skyscraper is considered as the second tallest building in South Asia. Continue your tour of Colombo through the Old Parliament Building and Fort district to reach Independence Hall at Independence Square. Thereafter offer prayers at the famous places of worship. It’s time to do some shopping to buy some souvenirs so for that visit the Odel, House of Fashion, Beverly Street, Majestic City, Noritake and many more.
As the day retires, head back to the hotel to spend overnight in the comfort of your bed.
Have a scrumptious breakfast and check out of the hotel to proceed for Bentota-the city of Golden Beaches. Here at Bentota the visitors can feel the real essence of the sea and the warmth of the soft sand. The day is divided in between swimming in the water and basking in the sun. Bentota is the perfect destination to spend vacation at the beach. While enjoying the sun, sea and sand the water sports lovers can enroll themselves in various water sports so as to add unique experience to their trip.
Upon arrival check in the hotel and spend the day at leisure. Later spend the overnight in the hotel at Bentota.
After you have done with mouthwatering breakfast, set out to experience boat ride along the Madhu River in the water-sports capital of Sri Lanka. Later in the noon post lunch, visit the Turtle Hatchery. In Bentota there are few turtle hatcheries along the beach between Induruwa and Ahungalla. Out of all the hatcheries some are quite small while the others are of decent size. At the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Sanctuary turtle eggs are being gathered, to let them hatch and release the turtles as soon as they are ready to go out to see. Not only this but they also take care of wounded and sick species and provide schools and students with turtle-related items for use in classes.
As the day ends head back to the hotel to spend overnight at Hotel in Bentota.
In the morning after the breakfast proceed for the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka- Kandy: situated in the middle of the hills. Being the second largest city of Sri Lanka, it is the most sought out toursi destination for its immense beauty. It has been claimed as one of the seven UNESCO declared World Heritage sites in the country. With its luxuriant prairie, picturesque lake, longest river of the country and misty mountains, Kandy successfully mesmerizes every visitor unsurprisingly.
Spend overnight in the hotel at Kandy.
Post breakfast set out for a city tour of Kandy. During the tour offer prayers at one of the world heritages as well as a sacred place for the Buddhists all over the world; namely the Temple of tooth Relic known to the Sri Lankans as Dalada Maligawa.
Next, visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens which is a paradise for nature lovers. This beautiful flower garden is home to over 300 different varieties of orchids, other spices, medicinal plants and Palm trees. Every year more than 1.2 million people visit this 147 acre flower garden.
The real evidence of the richness will be affirmed by your visit to the Gem Museum. Sri Lanka is the world famous producer of the finest quality of gems across the world. Semi-precious gems, the sapphires of Sri Lanka are very exclusive and comes in shades of blue, red, green, white etc.
Towards the evening set out for a traditional cultural dance show. To spend overnight, stay at your hotel in Kandy.
Treat your taste buds with mouthwatering breakfast and check out of the hotel to reach Airport. En route to your destination, visit one of the most important tourist attractions in Sri Lanka, the
Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Here volunteers and caretakers provide shelter and take care of orphaned, abandoned and injured elephants within the park. See how these caretakers feed, bathe and help these gentle giants.
Later travel to the airport for your flight to onwards destination or back to India with memories which will last a life time.
