Day 1 : Vancouver arrival dayOn arrival in Vancouver after immigration and the baggage collection, your driver will greet you with a Yatra.com sign and take you in a private mini coach to your downtown Vancouver hotel. The BEST WESTERN PLUS Sands Hotel is situated steps away from the beach at beautiful English Bay and world famous Stanley Park. Shopping and international restaurants are only moments away. Day 9. Vancouver to Kamloops (354 kms)This morning after breakfast on the cruise ship, you will meet your driver guide in the lobby of the Pan Pacific hotel for our journey into the interior of British Columbia. We follow the Coquihalla Highway passing through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the province. This dramatic change of environment is always exhilarating, as you go from misty coastal cedars and tall firs to bright sunlight on the high rock faces in the space of half an hour. On route make a stop at the beautiful town of Hope about 2 hours drive from Vancouver. Hope grew quickly in 1858 when gold was discovered in several areas further up the Fraser River. The town is surrounded by stunning scenery, where mountains tower a kilometer or more over the river valley, and was showcased in Silvester Stallone's "First Blood" action movie, filmed nearby. We will have a lunch stop in Hope. We will arrive in Kamloops late afternoon. Located in the heart of British Columbia’s interior, surrounded by the fascinating, hillside landscape of Canada’s only semi-arid desert, Kamloops is one of the hubs of the province. The name itself, Kamloops, is derived from a Shuswap Indian word meaning “meeting place,” referring to the joining of the North and South Thompson Rivers on which the town is located. Dinner tonight is at a local Indian restaurant. Overnight in Kamloops (Breakfast and Dinner) Day 10. Kamloops to Jasper via Mt Robson (443 kms) This morning after breakfast we continue our journey from British Columbia to Alberta. We make a stop at the most prominent mountain in North America's Rocky Mountain range; it is also the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. The mountain is located entirely within Mount Robson Provincial Park of British Columbia, and is part of the Rainbow Range. Mount Robson boasts great vertical relief over the local terrain. From Berg Lake the mountain rises 2,300 m (7,546 ft) to the summit. The north face of Mount Robson is heavily glaciated and 800 m (2,600 ft) of Alberta is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking places on Earth with it’s vast and varied landscape and experiences. Nestled in the heart of Canada’s largest Rocky Mountain Park, Jasper offers unparallel access to one of the world’s most pristine wilderness areas – Jasper National Park. It has shimmering Glaciers, abundant wildlife, crystal clear lakes, thundering Mt Robson – photo credit – Tourism BC waterfalls, deep canyons and evergreen forests, all surrounded by towering rugged mountain peaks are key reasons for it being on the UNESCO’s World Heritage list. It is deemed as one of the most significant sights on Earth. Jasper is the known as the gentle giant of the Canadian Rockies, offering visitors a more laid-back mountain experience with equal options for adventure, discovery and relaxation. As one of Canada’s oldest and largest national parks, established in 1907, Jasper was once seen as an island of civilization in a vast wilderness. This evening you can see for yourself the largest Dark Sky Preserve on the planet – just one of the ways to enjoy the magic of Jasper National Park. Dinner this evening will be at your Jasper Hotel. Overnight in Jasper (Breakfast and Dinner) Day 11. Jasper sightseeing tour Today after breakfast we will have a half day sightseeing tour of Jasper. Jasper, located in the Athabasca Valley of Jasper National Park, encompasses some outstanding mountain scenery. Explore the spectacular natural treasures of Canada’s largest national park. Stand above the massive walls of Maligne Canyon for stunning views of rushing waterfalls. A winding road leads to Patricia and Pyramid lakes where fishing, picnicking, boating (no gas motors allowed), and hiking are extremely popular. This evening dinner will be at your Jasper Hotel. Day 12. Jasper to Lake Louise via the Ice field Parkway (237kms) After breakfast we depart Jasper for a short trek to Athabasca Falls, then south to the Stutfield Glacier on Mount Kitchener and Tangle Falls in the Sunwapta Valley. At the Columbia Ice-field Centre, we will board an giant all terrain Ice Explorer for a chance to see one of the largest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle. This massive 325 sq km ice field is a true hydrological apex with run offs that feeds into the Arctic, Antarctic and Pacific oceans. Time is provided for lunch before continuing to Banff National Park. This afternoon you’ll enjoy scenic stops at glacier-fed Peyto Lake, and the Crowfoot Glacier. We travel on to Lake Louise – “The Jewel of the Canadian Rockies” and quintessential symbol of the Canadian Mountain scene. This alpine lake, known for it’s sparkling blue water is situated at the base of impressive glacier clad peaks that have long been at the heart of Canadian Mountaineering. Upon arrival into Lake Louise we will check into our hotel. Tonight we have a group dinner at the hotel
Day 13. Lake Louise to Banff sightseeing Today after breakfast we will depart Lake Louise for Banff on a sightseeing tour. Learn about the people, geology and wildlife while exploring the spectacular sights of the renowned mountain town of Banff. This excursion is highlighted with a journey on the Banff Gondola for a 360º view of six mountain ranges that surround the town. After a brief stop at Lake Minnewanka (Banff Lake), you will be dropped at your Banff Hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to enjoy Banff at your own pace. Overnight in Banff (Breakfast and dinner) Day 14. Banff day at leisureToday is a full day at leisure in Banff for you to pursue your own interests. A variety of optional activities will be available from your Driver guide who will be happy to assist you in planning your day. Downtown Banff offers a wide selection of restaurants, boutique shops and activities to make your trip a memorable one. With the assortment of shops and you are sure to find something special to The Banff Upper Hot Springs is one of Banff’s most famous attractions, discovered in 1884, the hot springs are a great place to relax in the natural hot springs water. For more than 100 years, health-conscious visitors from around the world have indulged in the soothing hot springs of Banff National Park. The tradition continues with many opportunities to rejuvenate and recharge: full-service luxury spas, therapeutic massage, yoga and pilates, relaxing mineral waters and more. This evening, enjoy a special farewell dinner with your driver guide at Masala Restaurant. Overnight in Banff (Breakfast and Dinner) Day 15. Banff to Calgary departure day Today after breakfast we begin our tour concluding in Calgary. We make a stop at Kananaskis for an optional 12-minute Summit Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. Calgary is a fast growing, fast moving city with over a million people and is the breathing heart of Western Canada; it is a place where prairie meets mountains, where heritage meets innovation and where the world comes to be swept off its feet by the sheer majesty of the Canadian Landscape. Calgary was the site of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games, is home to the Olympic Hall of Fame and the annual Calgary Stampede, and offers live theatre, museums, art galleries and major-league sports. We have a brief city highlights tour before departing for Calgary Airport for our onward flights.
