Day 9. Vancouver to Kamloops (354 kms)This morning after breakfast on the cruise ship, you will meet your driver guide in the lobby of the Pan Pacific hotel for our journey into the interior of British Columbia. We follow the Coquihalla Highway passing through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the province. This dramatic change of environment is always exhilarating, as you go from misty coastal cedars and tall firs to bright sunlight on the high rock faces in the space of half an hour.

First explored by the Hudson's Bay Company, the Coquihalla Pass saw a progression of trappers, hunters, fur traders and, in the late 1850's, prospectors entered the area in search of gold. The Pass later saw the Kettle Valley railway line put through and, after that closed in 1960, two major pipelines and logging operations.

On route make a stop at the beautiful town of Hope about 2 hours drive from Vancouver. Hope grew quickly in 1858 when gold was discovered in several areas further up the Fraser River. The town is surrounded by stunning scenery, where mountains tower a kilometer or more over the river valley, and was showcased in Silvester Stallone's "First Blood" action movie, filmed nearby.

We will have a lunch stop in Hope.

We will arrive in Kamloops late afternoon. Located in the heart of British Columbia’s interior, surrounded by the fascinating, hillside landscape of Canada’s only semi-arid desert, Kamloops is one of the hubs of the province. The name itself, Kamloops, is derived from a Shuswap Indian word meaning “meeting place,” referring to the joining of the North and South Thompson Rivers on which the town is located.

Dinner tonight is at a local Indian restaurant. Overnight in Kamloops

(Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 10. Kamloops to Jasper via Mt Robson (443 kms)

This morning after breakfast we continue our journey from British Columbia to Alberta.  We make a stop at the most prominent mountain in North America's Rocky Mountain range; it is also the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. The mountain is located entirely within Mount Robson Provincial Park of British Columbia, and is part of the Rainbow Range. Mount Robson boasts great vertical relief over the local terrain. From Berg Lake the mountain rises 2,300 m (7,546 ft) to the summit. The north face of Mount Robson is heavily glaciated and 800 m (2,600 ft) of

ice plunge from the summit to Berg Glacier.

Alberta is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking places on Earth with it’s vast and varied landscape and experiences. Nestled in the heart of Canada’s largest Rocky

Mountain Park, Jasper offers unparallel access to one of the world’s most pristine wilderness areas – Jasper National Park. It has shimmering Glaciers, abundant wildlife, crystal clear lakes, thundering

waterfalls, deep canyons and evergreen forests, all surrounded by towering rugged mountain peaks are key reasons for it being on the UNESCO’s World Heritage list. It is deemed as one of the most significant sights on Earth.

Jasper is the known as the gentle giant of the Canadian Rockies, offering visitors a more laid-back mountain experience with equal options for adventure, discovery and relaxation. As one of Canada’s oldest and largest national parks, established in 1907, Jasper was once seen as an island of civilization in a vast wilderness.

This evening you can see for yourself the largest Dark Sky Preserve on the planet – just one of the ways to enjoy the magic of Jasper National Park.
